Forge of Fury

The Forge of Fury module can nicely re-skin to provide an abandoned ancient facility for the party to explore.

Dwarfward Bound

The party is taking their first of three ruins jobs. They are headed into the mountains to find the dwarves.

Final Research

The party will have the chance to complete some research before heading off to their first mission.

This is the available information:

  1. Dwarf Ruins

  • The dwarves found the ruins while chasing a vain of ore and decided to seal the ruins off

  • The dwarves have seen elvish ruins before and think that they are more trouble than they are worth

  • The dwarves will not reveal the location unless the party goes to Domov

  • The ruling family is the Banik family

  1. Academy Connection

  • One of the instructors at the Adventurer’s Academy knows the location of one of the ruins

  • The ruins are in the desert to the west of the Fey woods, but the exact location requires visiting the instructor, ‘Dr’ Bernard Pemsworth

  1. Wandering Cultist

  • Cultist by the name of Octavian that follows sundered piece of Knowledge, Testa, sought the location of one of the ruins

  • This cultist went into the Fey forest and came out a ‘Fey touched’ Tinker

Wolf Attack

As the party makes their way towards Domov, they have an encounter with wolves. The mountains sometimes have packs of Wolves. A few of these packs of Wolves are lead by Winter Wolves.

With a DC 15 perception check, the party notices blood smears from a dwarf scouting party that encountered this wolf pack. The pack of Wolves will stay out of sight of the party and wait until the cover of night to attack the party.

The Wolf pack is being hunted by a patrol of dwarves lead by a member of the Jusic family. This captain does not know about the details of the agreement between the Sisters and the Banik family.

On the Job

The party receives the details of their job and a guide who will help them find the ruins.

For the King

King Banik insists upon formality and deference, and in return he gives plenty of condescension. He will make it sound like the party is being given a great honor to clean up a mess in his mountains. The King will share information but quickly tires of this and sends the party off on their mission.

Traveling

The guide will lead the party on a brief three day journey to the ruins. This journey will involve mostly underground travel with some overland travel at the end to reach the ruins. Travel will be largely uneventful, but this may be very interesting for individuals that have not seen dwarven construction before.

Part One

The party has made their way to the ruins. Some large, bulky individuals were guarding the entrance and disappeared back into the ruins. As the party approached the bodies of dwarves, they came under fire from within the ruins.

Part Two

The party has largely cleared the first level of the Forge of Fury. After a frontal assault on the facility, the party opted to find a hidden passage and make a loud, frontal assault after finding the plant-men laying in wait for them. The plant druid managed to flee, burning the bridge behind them. This battle left the party fairly beat up and they elected to long rest on the east side of the chasm.

Part Three

The party found Duke Nowak, the political and romantic rival of the Queen. After disabling the security system on the first level, the party made their way down onto the second level of the dungeon. On this level, the party discovered a tribe of sentient rock people who were originally part of the security system of the dungeon. The tribe of rock people provided some information about the heart of the druid facility and how the magical rift works.

Part Four

The party made their way into the primary level of the Forge of Fury. The ancient, insane security system of the primary level attempted to kill the party but has been unsuccessful so far. A troubled ghost has possessed one of the party members and wants them to leave.

Part Five

Last week the party found the rift to the Feywild. This rift was being held open by a fey lord wedged inside. The party almost died fighting the security system on this level of the dungeon, but the fey lord, Siebold The Smith, burned out the plants fighting the party. Once Siebold The Smith left, the party started clearing the remaining areas of the dungeon.

Part Six

The party finished exploring the Forge of Fury and scoured the ruins for loot. Their exploration was disrupted by finding a dragon on the lower level. They also found a mobile fortress and were able to restore one of the rock people.

Civil War

The party has been tasked by the Duke to help save the city from the civil war. There are two main objectives that the Duke sees as important are

  • Save King Banik from the attacking forces

  • Capture Queen Jusic to prevent future insurrections

How the party accomplishes these tasks will be interesting to observe.

Return to Kalkum

The party opted to save the King and avoided killing the Queen. Duke Nowak and King Banik give the party a variety of treasures for their efforts, but the party has to leave town in the morning.

Home Away from Home

The party made their way back to Kalkum. Along the way they discovered that their house has a personality and sometimes based on their wishes.
